Some years ago, I read Becoming Scarlett by Ciara Geraghty and didn't really like it. For me, it was way too clichéd and I thought I'd never read one of her books ever again. Yet here I am, reviewing Saving Grace by - guess what? - Ciara Geraghty. And once again I feel like this book is one big cliché and the story could have been told in half the amount of pages. Our heroin, Grace, is a corpulent, ginger 29-year old who has amazing tits, the most stunning hair you've ever seen, a handsome asshole-boyfriend (seriously, I would have dumped him the second he would have told me to not eat insert any type of food because I'm to fat already.) and is super-clumsy - don't worry, it's the kind of clumsiness everyone loves. Furthermore, we have one dead brother, two sisters who are basically perfect and some mum-issues for Grace. See my point here? Now, Grace has a problem - she's slept with nerdy yet super-handsome (ginger) Bernard and the entire book deals with the question wether Grace should leave her current boyfriend (YES!), get over her issues with her mum (YES!) and stop being such a boring character (YES PLEASE!). Long story short: happy end alert! Seriously, this book is boring. And there is this kind of humour nobody really likes and it's more of an akward "Hahahaaaa"-moment than an actual "wow, that was funny" one. There is one more Ciara Geraghty-book on my list - Lifesaving for Beginners and I'm really curious if I like this novel better than the other two.
