About the book

The New Empire intends to mark its victory over the Nationalists with a bloody celebration. On the high holiday of Wintertide, the Witch of Melengar will be burned and the Heir of Novron executed. On that same day the Empress faces a forced marriage, with a fatal accident soon follow. The New Empire is confident in the totality of its triumph but there's just one problem-Royce and Hadrian have finally found the true Heir of Novron -- -and they have their own holiday plans.

When author Michael J. Sullivan self-published the first books of his Riyria Revelations series online, they rapidly became ebook bestsellers. Now, Orbit is pleased to present the complete series for the first time in bookstores everywhere.

Heir of Novron is the final volume of The Riyria Revelations and includes Wintertide and -- available for the first time -- the final volume, Percepliquis.

Yes, you should read this series

Criminally underhyped series, every singel book was a 4+☆ Banger. (The three books are all omnibus editions containing 2 books, these were first self published as 6 individual novels) This felt like a true passion project. You could tell that the entire story arc was mapped out from the very beginning. Characters and places that become important later on are being brought up/mentioned in early books. This makes for very satisfying and rewarding reading experience. Sullivan also managed to make this world feel ancient, like it actually has a deep history and lore that I wanted to learn more about. I can't remember the last time a series had me laughing and saying "no way" out loud as this one did, probably never laughed so much while reading ever. I loved it!!

I can't believe I've finished this. I started reading the Riyria books in 2015 (chronologically) and fell in love with Royce and Hadrian immediately. I expected saying goodbye to be a bit more emotional though. Up until the first 600 pages, I've LOVED every bit of the book. Then the ending really fell short and I felt like too many loose ends were tried to be explained. Sadly, that didn't really work out that well and I don't know. I'm a bit sad :< Still 4 stars because it was an epic adventure nonetheless!
