The Fiercest of the Fierce **** + The third book and the two story lines of the books before added up and each main character met. Together they each have their own power. + Matty’s dialogue was so fun. I love the fact that he is more mature in this book but still has that humor and silliness to him. Best scene: „It‘s his gift. You see ahead. He sees beyond. And I …“ Matty felt silent. […] Then he laughed harshly. „I can fix a frog.“ - Leader‘s dialogue was kinda cringe. For him being this BIG character. Every time he opened his mouth it was an ouchie for me. + The Trade Mart: OOOH YES! The symbolism for materialism and capitalism. WOW. Chef‘s kiss!! + I loved the „cult“ feeling in all the other books, but it peaked in this one! „Village“ is a place to escape from the harsh reality everyone comes from, but it still becomes something dark after time. Especially with the trade mart thing. Making people be more interested in materialistic stuff and forget their way of thinking of being kind and helpful to each other. - The „Forest“ was annoying. I honestly didn’t get what the point of that was. -+The magic part was a bit cringy hehe. I get why it was put in, but I feel like it could also be less. Way less. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. + Matty is the best character by far. Loved him in „Gathering Blue“ and fell even more in love with him in „Messenger“. + The way Matty‘s crush on *a new character* was described was BEAUTIFUL! I never blushed so hard for reading about someone crushing about someone. It was everything. The giggles, the butterflies. Honey I’m in love. Matty - such a cutie <3 + Best for last: Less pages. „The Giver“ (1) was really fast in pace, the story progressed really fast and this is what makes it so incredible! The fact that „Gathering Blue“ (2) didn’t follow that was surprising. It was way more detailed and much slower to read. Which is why I loved that this one (3) was written faster again. I literally couldn’t put it down. I just think that is Lowry’s talent. Wiring a shorter book but building the world around it so vastly and creatively that it feels like a huge ass book. (That’s why I am a little scared to read „Son“ (4) because that’s so thick! I hope it’s good…)
