About Thomas Henry Huxley

Thomas Henry Huxley war ein britischer Biologe, bekannt als "Darwins Bulldog". Er wurde am 4. Mai 1825 in Ealing, Middlesex, England, geboren und starb am 29. Juni 1895 in Eastbourne, Sussex, England. Huxley war ein wichtiger Vertreter der Evolutionstheorie und setzte sich für die Verbreitung und Popularisierung der Ideen von Charles Darwin ein. Er war ein Pionier in der Erforschung der Struktur von Wirbeltieren und trug zur Entwicklung der modernen Biologie bei. Huxley war auch ein bekannter Schriftsteller und Redner und setzte sich für die Bildung und Wissenschaft ein. Er war ein Mitglied der Royal Society und erhielt zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Ehrungen für seine Arbeit. Huxleys Einfluss auf die Wissenschaft und die Gesellschaft ist bis heute spürbar.
