Okay, listen, this is NOT a bad book. It's objectively actually a rather nice book. Has great representation, a healthy exploration of sexualitiy, and a sweet green flag relationship... It was just sadly very boring to me 😅 I love drama, and this had none. Not a single real problem in this story. That might be fine for some, that is the book for you then, but I need more in my books. The story is about Mason realizing he isn't straight because he is attracted to his housemate Ryan. After a little incident, where he walked in on him jerking off, Ryan proposes to hook up for Mason to explore his sexualitiy. The blurb and beginning give of a very different, smut focused vibe, which isn't really what this book is about. Sure, there is a good amount of smut, but it's not the main focus. This is also a lot about their professions, with Mason being a professional rugby player, and Ryan a drag queen. He is also into D&D, and we get a few scenes of a campaign. That was nice, but the rugby descriptions bored me 😅 In terms of representation, I also want to mention that Ryan is a demiboy who uses he/they pronouns and has ADHD. They are also bald, which you don't see often. There are actually a lot of little things sprinkled in, like body positivity about gaining weight, or body hair (this might seem random, but I can't remember another book where ass hair was mentioned in a positive context xD). The whole book gives off this very positive, accepting vibe. Masons exploration was moreso about never having been with someone with a male body, but he was almost immediately sure about his queerness, so there wasn't that much to explore. Nobody had a problem with it, and the whole "we are just hooking up, but now there are feelings involved" was also a non-issue. As I said, no conflict in this book. I will say though, it really separates itself from other books about bi-awakening in that way. So, yeah, wasn't for me, but definitely wasn't bad. It just had nothing that really kept me interested. I am fine with low stakes, but this was no stakes 😂
