When I tell you that I love the single dad trope, I mean it! “Textbook Defense” combines a lot of humour with a nice slow burn romance and the cutest little girl ever 💓 I loved the “romcom” aspect about this book and the storyline itself was also entertaining and interesting. Because of those factors the book never really got boring which was really pretty awesome! 😌 I would consider this a slow burn romance and because of this the book itself does not have a lot of spice, so if you like a good smutty romance this might be not for you *hehe* Even though I enjoyed reading this book there are quite a few things I did not like that much about it starting with the fact that it’s written in the third person - Now this is a preference thing but I personally don’t like it very much so that unfortunately bothered me throughout the whole book. Also the “chapters” or better saying the non existing chapters were also kinda annoying me… I really like Jordy and Rowan as individual characters and I also love them together but I think the chemistry and love between them was a little bit lacking - I sometimes didn’t get the feeling that they were in love (especially on Jordy’s side). Maybe that’s just me but that’s how I felt it…😶 I would still recommend this book to you especially if you like lighter books with great humour!
