A lot of repetition, the same misunderstandings over and over started to annoy me halfway through the book. Otherwise cool concept and likeable characters. I‘m interested in other shade/human pairs now, too. Will probably pick up the next one as well.
This was way more interesting than I expected it to be!
The story is this. Ophelia is a failed Shades hunter. Shades are basically demons that is live in a parallel, colorless world and that need to feed on human fear to survive.
Ophelia's life changes when she's called on by the Hunters to fulfill a peace treaty that requires a hunter to go live in the Sahdes realm and marry their King, Allerick.
I thought this would be pure monster smut, but actually it took a while for any action to start.
Allerick was cutely worried about Ophelia's wellbeing, while Ophelia just wanted to get railed. But a misunderstanding about Ophelia's scent made eveything really hard for them.
It was a really fun read !
Actually 4.5 stars! Tbh I would have never expected this but this book was really good! Even though everyone recommends this bc of the smut, I have to admit that I really enjoyed the world, setting and story a lot!! It was more written like a fanfic, but still: I enjoyed it. This book dragged me out of my reading slump
