Tropes: – rivals to lovers – Highland Dance competition – forced proximity – mental health
Out of all of Katia Roses books so far (and I‘ve read quite a few at this point) this one is my favorite so far. There‘s just something in the rivals-to-lovers dynamic of Moira and Kenzie that kicks differently and that warms my heart. I also think, after reading this, that Highland dancing belongs to lesbians. For real, I can‘t picture a story without two girls in the center of it all in this setting, it‘s just impossible. Aside from their couple dynamic, I enjoyed both of them on their own. Especially Kenzies backstory made me emotional – and there might be even a scene where I had tears in my eyes. It‘s a cozy story, but not the way of cozy with just happy feels – this book also manages to tackle more serious topic like f.e. depression and poverty. 4/5⭐️ 🌶️/5
