In a future world where the human population is divided in citizens, are have rights and non-gratas who are basically indentured servants for life, Charlie is non-gratas. She's send to Earth's new colony to work. There, she's assigned to the observatory where she helps scientists take care of the lifeforms found on this world to study them. Until one day, a new specimen is brought but Charlie doesn't think this one is an animal, she thinks it's a intelligent being. So she prepares to break him out. And she's right, Rhyst is an intelligent being and he brings her back to his city. So this one is pretty slow in the beginning, a bit too slow for me. And I had a really hard time getting past that. I'm sad because this was an interesting world with both how Earth's society is and Rhyst's society but yeah I had a hard time with it.
