Veral is an alien from a race where feelings aren't encouraged, they're basically cyborgs and they all thrive for perfection within their race. Veral isn't typical though, and lives on the fringe of his society as a scavanger on unexplored planets. That's how he lands on earth, expecting an unpopulated planet and finding not so friendly settlements of locals. Earth went to shits 2 generations ago and the humans still alive, only barely get by, especially the women. Terri's life was okay until the Reapers, a not well intentioned gang, settled near her and decided to round up all the women, now she hides for her life. Honestly, this was a good book. The world building was really interesting. The world itself, not so out of the ordinary for the premise, but you don't see the type of Veral's alien race that much. I liked Terri, she was brave but she wasn't too impulsive. There was no miscommunication between the love interests and I love myself a good miscommunication-free romance. Veral was very interesting, I like scifi romance with "non-human" aliens and he was a good one. The smut was good too and not too, too present so that's good!
