What a mess.
Pari, the horrible non-assistent, guilt-trips North and Shaw into looking into the disappearance of Shep, her girlfriend's boss at a LGBT safe house. Blindsided with lies from the beginning North and Shaw navigate a case of murder, drugs, corruption... and many more lies, professionally and personally. What a mess is the only way to sum up everything that happens in book 2. Not sure if I was too generous with the stars based on the ending. And maybe because at least one of them actually communicated. I might be gobsmacked that it happen now and not in book 15 as I was about to give up hope. Great twisty plot, but I hope the holes will be dealt with in the coming book as I have a lot of unanswered questions.
