I liked this book a lot more than I feel I should like it. Although, I just have to admit that Helen and Mr. Roberts/Mark have a pull on me – and I could feel it all, the attraction, the angst, the excitement… It‘s a rather slow-slow burn story that needs time to unfold. But I needed that time too, so no critic on this from me. I think Lizzie, Helen‘s best friend, is an very interesting addition to the main storyline of these two (Helen and Mark that is), to the push and pull. For a long time, I did not know what her role it all of it would be, or if she even had a role. (There too are some f/f scenes between Lizzie and Helen with dubious consent, and I don‘t think that is mentioned in a TW, so be aware of that.) However, I think Lizzie’s character arc and her storyline are such an important part of this book, and they broke me heart more than a bit. 4/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
