The second part is a lot darker, and I love it! The character development, especially for Meave and Mal, is authentic, compelling, and lovingly crafted. The relationship between the two remains complicated and special, which is evident in the beautifully written dialogue. The plot is mostly gripping and builds to a climax, even if at times it feels like the story is moving slowly. Overall, the sequel completely captivated me once again.
