Porsche Stole My Heart
After I finished the first volume, I immediately needed to know how the story would continue because I just could not leave it like that. So I picked up volume 2 not long after, and I have to say, I absolutely loved it. This volume was amazing. In a way, it redeemed the story a bit for me. I understand much better now why the first volume ended the way it did. I still don’t like that ending, but at least now I get it more. What I really loved about this volume was that, while it still had some funny moments, it also had so much depth. We leave the first volume with one of the characters deeply traumatized, and I think this book handled that really well. It didn’t just brush past the trauma or move on too quickly. Instead, a huge part of the story focuses on it -on how he struggles with what happened, the emotional turmoil he goes through, and how he slowly begins to deal with both his trauma and his new feelings. That made this volume feel much more vulnerable, and I thought it was really well done. Porsche was once again the highlight for me. At this point, I honestly think he is becoming one of my favorite characters in danmei. I just love seeing how much depth he has and how much he keeps growing. I also really liked seeing how the mafia slowly starts to become a kind of new family for him. At the same time, there is also a new threat that starts to play a bigger role, both for him and for the mafia, and I’m really curious to see how that is going to develop in the next volumes.
