This is a very detailed and precise guide to the West Highland Way: if the author say acrophobic people might experience difficulties at certain points of the way, "medium" acrophobiacs like myself are indeed in for some blood, sweat and tears. ;-) If you go "fully backpack and tent" as I did, you might want to change some of the suggested daily tours to better hit the campsites - or wild-camp where allowed. Also you should note that the author seems to have been going from hotel to hotel with a day-pack rather than a big "all-in" backpack. It might mean some squeezing and (almost) crawling for you, e.g. at a certain "sheep tunnel". Still, a very thorough guide.
