Ein Wort - Außergewöhnlich! Meine Güte...das ist harter, brutaler und düsterer Stoff. Drei Cyborg-Tiere die vom Militär gesteuert werden, sollen eingeschläfert werden und brechen aus... Der Zeichenstil ist realistisch gehalten, die Bildausschnitte und Panels sind mitunter richtig beeindruckend und innovativ. Ein Großteil der Graphic Novel wird ohne oder nur wenig Worte erzählt - Ich liebe sowas. Die Geschichte ist düster und doch immer auch emotional. Ich musste ein paar Mal schlucken. Erinnert von der Thematik etwas an eine neue Interpretation des Plague Dogs Films (bzw. dessen literarischer Vorlage). Für Comic Fans, für Tierfreunde (mit starken Nerven) und für Fans anspruchsvoller Comics.

The cover may look cute, but this story is very violent. And don't get me wrong - I don't like this book because of the splatter scenes. It's story and art which are so incredibly working together. Here you get a tale about humanity and animal abuse on the one side, and about being lost and looking for a purpose in life on the other side. The story is intense, tragic and poignant - and it's very much scifi. And then there's the art which could not be closer to the storyboard of a blockbuster film. The reader is encouraged to look very carefully at all those details. But there are also iconic splash pages. Even the dialogies are kind of arty. This book proves that a comic can be very mature and I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind some bloodshed.
