The latest movie adaptation is incredibly faithful to this book, so for me it was basically like rewatching it, which makes it hard to really review it. This has very interesting characters. Especially Mattie is very strongly written, narrating this novel with a voice that feels unique to her. A lot of the writing is dialog, which I very much enjoy. The story is compelling and quite an adventure with good character moments. It is short and a quick read without feeling like there should be more. Really nice western.
