3.5 stars, actually. As the main character is a bookseller, I feel I had no chance but like this series. I read the second book first, and was very much entertained. Sadly, the first one isn't quite as good as the second one, and you often feel that Victor Legris, said bookseller and amateur detective, is a bit on the slow side mentally. Perhaps it's due to him having his blood in other body parts for quite some amount of time during the book (don't worry, there are no corny sex scenes, just some drool and slobber and exaggerated heartache - which is endearing in its exaggeration). As for the pace of this crime novel, it's more for fans of Agatha Christie than more modern and high-paced authors.
