Part 4 in the Adrien English series was a roller coaster ride par excellence. Famous Hollywood producer gets killed at a party right next to Adrien who is in discussion about selling the book rights of his first novel to Hollywood. Two years have passed. Two years during which he has not had contact with Jake. (Seriously???) Lieutenant O'Closeted takes over the homicide and thus re-enters Adrien's life. Much to the dismay of his boyfriend of those two years. A lot of hurt, a lot of angst. Adrien becoming feistier, thank you! Jake. I knew his character wouldn't make for a fluffy read from the beginning, but damn. He definitely put me through the wringers, and I'm still uncertain about my feelings towards him. Fantastic book, all the stars.
