I waited for Book 2 to come out to start this series and I was right to do it! This is the story of Princess Iksvien, Vi, who is the daughter of one of the Queens of the alliance. As part of a treaty, Vi is to be traded to the Prince of Darkness, Thiago, for three months to insure peace. Her mother asks her to kill him before she leaves. But something strange is going on as the Prince doesn't act the way she expected. This book was really good, the world building is so original and just great. You really see a world with a fully fleshed past, a religion, gods, differents creatures and that's what we love. I also loved the main characters. Vi is perfect considering the position she's in. It's really not easy, but you can tell she feels a certain type of way from the bargain she strikes to begin with. And Thiago is just *chef kiss*, book boyfriend propaganda. He was nice and patient with Vi, but also stern and hold great power, he just ticks all the boxes. The side characters were also really great, Thalia made me doubt my conclusion and Finn is just adorable. I can't wait to see them all in the next book. I guess the only remarque I can make is that I saw the twist coming, it made sense. But also, there were several times were I doubted myself so the book does a good job of not being too too obvious. 10/10 would recommend, on to the next
