"Forced" to re-read the first book in the series as I was lost in book 2, mixing up the MCs with another paranormal mystery series. Det. Gary Mitchell is facing a serial killer who brutally murders gay men in Boston. When personal tragedy hits him he is willing to accept the help of psychic Dan Porter. I had to skip a few pages during the re-read as I remembered the painful moments before they occurred. Didn't save me the tears. Damn. Now that I am up to date with the who, how, and where - off back to part 2.

A serial killer aiming to kill gay men terrifies Boston in this crime novel. Five men have been murdered when the police bring a psychic in to help them. I loved the story, the idea, and even the psychic elements. But even with all the explanations given in the book the relationship felt still very insta. The pain of the MC is seeping through the entire story. I think his past and present gripped me the most. Looking forward to the next book!
