"Taproot" may be a much shorter story compared to "Hello Sunshine", but I still ended up really enjoying it 👻 As always, Keezy Young’s artwork is absolutely gorgeous!! Every page felt so lively, soft, and full of emotion. I’m already a huge fan of queer stories, and adding ghosts and necromancy elements into the mix made this graphic novel even more interesting to me. Even though the story is fairly short and doesn’t have the space to fully flesh everything out, it still manages to create such a warm, bittersweet atmosphere. Overall, it was just a really lovely and charming read ✨

Eine queere Graphic Novel über einen Gärtner und einen Geist. Eine Geschichte über Leben und Tod, über Trauer und Hoffnung und dessen Gleichgewicht. Mir hat die Graphic Novel gut gefallen, es war wholesome und die Charaktere mochte ich ganz gerne. Allerdings fand ich dass die Story etwas zu kurz war. Es gab Stellen, die etwas ausführlicher hätten sein dürfen. Dadurch wäre der Lesefluss mMn flüssiger gewesen. Aber trotzdem fand ich die Graphic Novel ganz schön. Ich fand auch das Nachwort sehr schön. Besonders "Life isn't all joy and happy endings, but even in the absence of happiness, there still needs to be hope." ist bei mir direkt hängen geblieben.

The illustrations are simple, but really lively and I especially love the colour scheme the author worked with. My only quibble is that the conflict gets resolved very quickly and the story is over too fast.
