Fast paced I was given a recommendation to read this and with a good price FREE I couldn't say no I read about half when I looked at a few reviews I thought people would love it but it had a very clear that there was a love it or hate it decide me I'm in the love it. I think this series is aimed more towards the younger generations because of it's fast pace but I can honestly say that I love it yes there was at one point I was confused but you have to go with the flow of the book. I would like to hit a few of the nasty characters figuratively speaking of course. But I'm looking forward of continuing the series

To be honest I'm not sure I liked the book very much and I'm quite disappointed, for I was expecting more of it... I like the idea of the story itself and the world it's set in. The corrupt king an queen who are cruel to their people and the Rebellion that tries to overthrow the Empire and bring justice and a better life for everyone. But I didn't like the way the story is told... The main characters fall in love and out of it in a matter of days, people are introduced, who you think will play an important role but are never really mentioned again. For example Anka, who is saved by Ceres and joins the rebellion, then becomes Ceres' maid in the castle, but after that she only appears from time to time for a few moments, always saying she has some kind of a mission from the rebellion, but you never find out what exactly she is doing. Then there's that one person who plays an important role (not gonna mention who, so I won't spoil to much, in case anyone still wants to read the book after reading my review), who dies so suddenly and unspectacular in a few sentences, that just doesn't make sense... Actions that are established, but then never happen. Conversations or actions that make absolutely no sense, like in the very beginning of the book, where Ceres bumps into an old lady in the market, who shouts at her something like "You! A great destiny awaits you!" and Ceres just answers "How do you know my name?". What??? She never said your name girl. Did I miss something??? And Ceres also never questions the part with the great destiny awaiting her, she just accepts it as if it's completely normal that random people tell you somethinng like that. The author is also repeating herself quite often in the same paragraph, which is quite annoying... To conclude... I'm gonna keep reading the rest of the series, but just because I already bought the first three books in the expectation that they are going to be good, but I don't think I'll like them much better than this one... Luckily I read them as e-books, so at least I won't have to spend that much money on them... We'll see what my review at the end of the series will be...
