3,5 stars. Overall, I really liked this book. Just like I did the previous 3 in the series. But what in the holy hell is up with the ending? Come ON! Over the course of 4 books, Cate Tiernan wove quite the intricate plot, and then the big showdown is... A candle that fizzles out a second after being lit, figuratively speaking. A spell here, some other spell there, a bit of drowning, some resuscitation, another spell, monologue, monologue, monologue, spell, someone vanishing, epilogue, the end. So that really ruined it for me. Let's not even mention that there are numerous questions left unanswered.
