Vedder’s ability to balance character development with the overarching plot ensures that readers are invested in both the individuals and the journey they undertake. One of the novel’s strengths lies in its pacing. Vedder maintains a brisk yet manageable pace, ensuring that the narrative never feels rushed while keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The author’s prose is both lyrical and accessible, enhancing the reading experience without overshadowing the story. ____________ Spoiler ____________ I especially liked how Reds character development throughout the story. And how she finally seems to trust Shane. I absolutely love their dynamic and hope for a happy ending for both of them. The Spindle Witch’s trap was really surprising for me and I was shocked how easily she could overpower all of them so quickly. One thing I didn’t like as much was the slow pacing of this book which led me to “only” give 4 stars. But overall, it was a great book and I would absolutely recommend it. I’m thrilled to read the last part:)
