This is the first time I write a review on here, but this book deserves it. The story is so gripping I could barely keep myself away from the pages! And the characters are so alive, breathing and bleeding I cried, suffered and lived with them through their survival and all their trauma. The beauty of the ending, too, how no matter what happens to us, we can fight through all of it because this is our life and we deserve to live it, no matter what anyone says. How we can find each other in the worst of times and then be forever intertwined. I adored the friendship between Devin and Ollie; and all the complicated feelings between all the characters made it seem so real. And I’m completely obsessed with Devin and Sheridan, how they saved and healed each other in such an intricate way beyond what happened to them in the woods. The greatest love stories are made of souls understanding each other. I had never read a horror book before and I’m glad this was the book that introduced me to the genre. I initially picked it up because the cover art is stunning and I’m happy that judging a book from its cover actually worked out for once! 4.5 stars!
