Don’t let the title fool you, this is not only about funny and cute animals. A large part of this book deals with growing up in an abusive household and in poverty, though there are stories about the animals added at the end of each chapter. I really enjoyed both, the serious topics as well as the more lighthearted stories. I think it’s important to point out that working with animals also isn’t all fun and games (take the sad background many of the animals came from as an example). All in all, this is a quick and easy read writing-style wise and I found it very interesting!
