Amazing story! This book had me from the first page. Tho there wasn’t much action for the most part of the book , the story build up around Nastya was gripping & interesting. Most plot was about her/her family‘s war „imprisonment“. Waiting for there unknown future - what has to happen to them. But all this was mixed with a lot of feelings , friendship, family bounds , fear, loss & love all together. With the last third of the book , the action took place - tho it was not much , it was really well written (as the rest of the book too!). The book was a good mixture of historic story , love & magic. I really liked the topic of spell mastery. The ending was satisfying for me , everything was handled well. I’d love to read more of the characters & their life after the happenings of that book - would be great ; but I can very well live with that ending too.

Der Anfang des Buches war wirklich sehr gut und mitreißend geschrieben. Im Nachhinein denke ich, hat mir der Anfang vor allem so gut gefallen, da er sehr stark der Realität entsprochen hat. Ab Mitte des Buches war es mir manchmal einfach zu wild und ich konnte die Taten und Dinge die passiert sind nicht richtig nachvollziehen. Hier hätte etwas mehr Liebe ins Detail fließen können.

I enjoyed it very much. *** In reality this was a heartbreaking story! The book did show quiet many of those horrible moments the family had to live through. I really enjoyed the idea of Anastasia 'escape' the way the author painted it! Stories too far away from the truth make it hard to like, but the author did her research well. It is a YA Love story with some bloody pages. If you are aware of this and the fact that magic is a thing in this story, you will have a great time with Nastya. The only issue I had with this story, is that I missed the explanation for the spells. I get that it is magic and we have a certain imagination of that. But either I missed it, or it was not explained, how these spells work. How do they look? How do they work? That was all up to my imagination. Which is fine in a way, but I would have liked to know more about this whole spellthing. Knowing the history of the Romanovs well was not bad for the reading experience. The book takes another turn, obviously. Also I liked the writing style of the Author. I literally flew through the pages.

Die Legende über die Zarenfamilie Romanov hat mich schon als Kind fasziniert. Ich liebe den animierten Film über Anastasia! Deswegen wollte ich auch dringend dieses Buch lesen. Die Einführung in die Geschichte zieht sich in meinen Augen sehr. Es wird viel erklärt und es passiert sehr wenig. Auch habe ich gedacht, dass die Geschichte erst beginnt, nachdem die Familie schon ermordet wurde, was nicht der Fall ist. Das liegt auch daran, dass ich den Film zu fest im Kopf hatte. Ab der zweiten Hälfte wird es dann richtig spannend und es wird endlich gehandelt. Die Soldaten und die Zarenfamilie ist mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen, doch mehrere Male hat es mir dieses auch herausgerissen. Die Geschichte ist sehr emotional und auch traurig. In dieser Version der Legende kommt Magie und Übernatürliches auch viel mehr vor und spielt eine aktive Rolle im Fortgang der Geschichte. Das Ende hat mir jedoch auch nicht wirklich gefallen, da es sehr zufällig und irgendwie auch erzwungen gewirkt hat, was leider sehr schade ist, denn die Geschichte ist wirklich gut. Mein Lieblingscharakter der Geschichte ist Zash! Es ist wirklich schlimm, was alles passiert… Die Geschichte ist eine eigene Fortführung der Legende und es ist wirklich cool, mal was anderes darüber zu lesen. Für mich hat es trotzdem viele Stellen, welche man besser ausarbeiten hätte können.
