This second book of The Old Man's War series is a mediocre and quick read. 2/3 of the novel is more or less world building and nothing really happens. In the last part we get a bit of action, but it is all rather predictable. Nevertheless it is interesting to learn more about the Colonial Union and the other alien races. I guess you will enjoy it if you liked the first book. The only thing here that really annoyed me was the fact that Scalzi uses in his dialogs after every sentence "'...' X said". As if the reader is to stupid to make out the person currently talking. I think I noticed it here espacialy, because I just read a Stephen King novel and he is one of the best dialog writers I read so far.
