Reading this book was a true joy. I appreciate how Janelle developed her characters, whisked me away to the beautiful settings of the book (I'm a major sucker for anything involving Montana), and brought emotion/depth to a story about so many things in a way that didn't feel like it was ever too much. Jane/Esme reminds me of Emmeline/Violet from The Scent Keeper (another favorite novel). Both characters lead lives different from the ones they used to have, they come into their own, and us readers are fortunate enough to watch the journey. The suspense was well-done and had me on the edge of my just-large-enough dorm room bed. I'll enthusiastically recommend this to anyone who will listen. Hat off to Janelle, you have a new fan!
