Eine magische Flut droht über Atlanta zu schwappen und das Wechselspiel zwischen Magie und Technologie in magische Richtung zu kippen. Die Magie nimmt dabei überfluss und alle magischen Wesen sind in dieser Zeit stärker. Bei ihrem nächsten Auftrag gerät Kate zwischen die Fronten von zwei Gottheiten, die die Flut nutzen wollen, einem kleinen widerspenstigen Mädchen, dass es zu schützen gilt und natürlich Curran. Ohhh wie ich die Curran POVs liebe🥰 es funkt auf jeden Fall mehr in diesem Teil! Insgesamt fand ich Teil 2 irgendwie gruseliger, an manchen Stellen war ich wirklich so „ooookay Horrorfilm vibes😭“. Es war mal wieder etwas anderes aber nicht weniger spannend und klasse. Wer Lust hat auf ein anderes Magiesystem und eine toughe Protagonistin, die sich Wortgefechte mit dem Beastlord liefert und dem Bösen in den Hintern tritt, ist hier genau richtig!

Kate Daniels is my all time favorite kickass character. The HUMOR of the dialoug, the worldbuilding, the slow burn, the epic overarching threat.... its Chefs Kiss. The Covers are horrible but let me tell you. This is the best urban fantasy series out there. Ilona Andrews is my TOP TIER author and always a must read.

While I wasn’t exactly a fan of the first Kate Daniels novel, I couldn’t put this one down. The action was on point, the plot and mythology very interesting and the idea of Kate making an investigation accompanied by a werewolf and a vampire was simply hilarious. Besides, I’d trade crazy aunt Kate for my own aunts in the blink of an eye. But it’s only 4.5 stars for me since I’m really not that into alpha male behavior. The whole “I’ll make you beg to have sex with me, look how manly I am” isn’t exactly my cup of tea, even if Curran earned some bonus points in the epilogue.
