This book pulled me in from page 1. The writing style is immensely addictive, and paired with the promise of a dark setting in a complex world - and a truly complicated relationship for once - I knew soon enough that this is a book absolutely to my taste. Viri and Reeve’s dynamic was everything I need in a romance: full of tension, wit, and that slow burn that makes you ache in the best way. The world of Aravell, with its deadly blackmist and magic-stealing Reapers, was so vivid I could practically feel the danger seeping off the pages. And don’t even get me started on the twists; just when I thought I had it all figured out, another reveal left me staring at the wall in shock. Let's say if you enjoyed the twists and revelations of Prison Healer, you'll love this one too The (found) family vibes, the banter, and yes, even Walnut the bunny, all came together to make this an unforgettable read. 4.5/5 stars.
