Overview of the individual ratings, ranked from best to worst. Highlighted in bold are my favourites. These stories make up the first short story collection „Ghost Stories of an Antiquary“. I’ll continue reading the other original collections (all combined in this edition) at a later date. THE BEST: 1. Canon Alberic‘s Scrap-Book — 4 2. The Mezzotint — 4 THE GOOD: 3. Oh, Whistle, and I‘ll Come to You, My Lad — 3.5 4. Number 13 — 3 (high) THE MEH: 5. The Ash-Tree — 3 (middle) 6. Count Magnus — 3 (middle) 7. Lost Hearts — 3 (low) 8. Treasure of Abbot Thomas — 3 (low) None of these stories were bad and due to their length (or brevity, I should say) easy enough to finish quickly even if not as engaging as some of the better ones. They all had their creepy moments but ultimately fell flat, all for different reasons. Overall, it’s a 3 from me.
