Obwohl ich zuvor nur "Slaughterhouse-5" gelesen habe, kann ich Vonnegut inzwischen als Lieblingsautoren bezeichnen. Alles, was mir am ersten Titel gefallen hat, ist auch in "Mother Night" vorhanden, ohne dass es jedoch ein Abklatsch ist.Man merkt, dass derselbe Autor dahintersteckt, aber es ist eben auch ein eigenes Buch. Vor allem sagte mir der erneute Einsatz des Unzuverlässigen Erzählers sehr zu. Ich mag gut konstruierte Geschichten, bei denen man nicht ganz genau weiss, woran man ist. Vonnegut hat hierfür ein talentiertes Händchen und immer wieder schafft er es, seiner Handlung einen neuen Schub zu versetzen. Ja, ich bin sehr gespannt auf weitere Bücher von Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

This was a cute, quick alien romance which I really enjoyed! Betani is a poor single mother of 2, living in a post-apocalyptic world, where things are getting better, and Betani is finally out of the streets and lives in an appartment. In this world, humans are co-habiting on the planet with Ragoru (wolf like aliens with 2 sets of eyes, arms, hearts, you get it) and due to a shortage of Ragoru females, they sort themselves into triads. nd our triad is looking for a mate, in the human village when the leader is poisonned and they are save from dying in the cold by Betani who shelters them in her appartment. It was a cute little holiday type book, which I read in august, yes. With a wholesome relationship that plays on cultural differences that were really interesting, it's a really cute read!
