A really great book and a must read for sff fans. Not an easy read because the focus doesn't lie on the plot, which is rather weak, but on the bigger main ideas about sociaty. Very dense and detailed examination of the utopias of this world, anarchism,capitalism,socialism etc.

The Dispossessed discusses some thought provoking topics and I found reading about her anarchist society on Annares interesting at times. One of the big questions the book asks is about the meaning of freedom and the way this is explored is fascinating at times. However, much of the book left me a bit bored, it often felt like nothing was really happening in either of the books narratives.
Why isn’t there a sixth star for books like this?
