In every moment leading up to this one, at ages nine and fourteen and nineteen and twenty-six, I have been as close to myself as I knew how to be. I may know myself now than I ever have been before, but ask again in a year or two. Unfortunately, I didn’t read Never Have I Ever before picking up this book but I liked it anyway! I was able to relate to Katie instantly. She writes so openly about her experiences that it was like reading a friend’s book. It was so nice to read this very personal book and I found myself nodding and silently agreeing with her so many times but I also laughed a lot. I think her chapter on Harry Styles might have been the longest one but it was also the funniest one. The epilogue, however, was unnecessary, at least in my opinion. It dragged and I was at the point where I just wanted it to be over.
I could have done without the One Direction stuff, but this was a really good memoir/coming out story
