Watchmen

Mir war bewusst das ich dieses Werk irgendwann mal lesen werde. Jetzt habe ich es beendet und bin froh das es vorbei ist. Natürlich bin ich begeistert ,auch wenn es nicht flüssig zu lesen war.

Ohmigosh, I made it. Clearly not my cup of tea. This couldn't entertain me for a bloody second. I don't care whether it's a classic or not. Murderous and self-destructive anti-heroes are not a novelty. It was back then, fine. But nowadays it can't hold a candle to modern sociopaths roaming the comic-pages. I didn't care about the characters in Watchmen, the political plot, the whole ongoing desaster. The prose is so dull, it made me angry. The artwork is crude. Know how to tell stellar artwork from the rest? Remove the text and it still paints the message it's supposed to carry.

This was a recommendation by a friend. I can see why it was part of the time's best novels. I enjoyed it, but my thoughts are not very straight. However, if you look for well written female characters, please skip this novel. I wonder why he even bothered to write them in the first place.
