Twilight of Embers (Dragons of Ember Hollow Book 1)

I was excited for a dragon shifter romance, but unfortunately Twilight of Embers didn’t land for me. The dragon shifter fantasy element was probably the best part of the story and what kept me reading.  That said, the why-choose trope with multiple guys felt overwhelming rather than intriguing, and it often just read as insta-love without much depth or real chemistry between the characters.  I usually enjoy reverse harem when it’s done with some nuance, but here it leaned heavily on cliché and quick attraction that didn’t feel earned.  A lot of the writing came off as cringe-inducing at times — awkward dialogue, repetitive emotional beats, and situations that didn’t feel natural, which made it hard to fully invest in the story or care about the relationships.  Overall, while the concept had potential, I didn’t enjoy the execution and it wasn’t for me. If you’re into fast-paced paranormal romance with a big cast of love interests, other readers seem to enjoy it more, but personally I’d only give it 2 stars.

2,5⭐Got so hyped from some Tiktoks and now I am pretty disappointed.Almost nothing happens, there is no real tension between the 5 guys and her, too fast solving of everything.I really wanted to like it, but will try work the next book and hope for some more grid from here...

Normalerweise ist Reverse Harem gar nicht mein Trope. Ich begann dieses Buch ohne wirklich zu wissen um was es geht, aber ich konnte es nicht abbrechen. Es war wirklich gut. Ich habe es genossen die männlichen Protagonisten immer mehr kennen zu lernen und herauszufinden, wer sie sind. Und diese Stimme im Hörbuch war wirklich gut zuzuhören 🤭 Hayden, die Protagonistin war mir fast zu schwach und zu verletzlich. Ebenfalls fand ich sie relativ flach. Ich mag starke Frauen in Büchern einfach mehr als die, die ständig verletzt und krank sind. Aber sonst ein gutes Buch. Werde es weiter lesen.
