Beschreibung

It begins with a painting won in a raffle: fifteen sunflowers, hung on the wall by a woman who believes that men and boys are capable of beautiful things.

And then there are two boys, Ellis and Michael,
who are inseparable.
And the boys become men,
and then Annie walks into their lives,
and it changes nothing and everything.

It's hard to describe this book... It's like reading the thoughts and memories of the protagonists and I really enjoyed it. The emotions of the characters felt raw and real and even though the book only has like 200 pages I feel like I've experienced a whole life while reading it. I also think it has a similar vibe as "Call Me By Your Name" but without the weird/problematic parts. Definitely a new favorite of mine...

Alle, die Call Me By Your Name mochten, werden "Tin Man" auch mögen. :)

3.5! a beautifully written, emotional book that tells a small but impactful story. i enjoyed it but it really was super depressing and i also feel like i probably won‘t remember this book for a long time, although it was really good! i liked winman‘s language, how she made me feel loneliness, loss, love, and longing (see what i did there) and just how close to life it felt because real life isn‘t perfect and sometimes things don‘t work out and we regret what we did or didn‘t do but we carry on and life is still beautiful.

You know this terrible heartache you once had? The one that caused you physical pain and made the world feel like it was wrapped in cotton wool? Read "Tin Man" to enjoy this feeling all over again for the entire second half of the book.
