The Neighbour (Detective D.D. Warren 3): A gripping thriller with a heart-stopping twist

The Neighbor is a twisty and mostly grounded mystery that isn't all too concerned about wrapping-up everything in a neat little bow. This is my first Lisa Gardner novel. Also my first D.D. Warren mystery. I love D.D. I just want more of her. I would love a story where she is the sole narrator. She is a no nonsense cop, imperfect and an all around well written character. Found her very relatable. While reading this, I was shocked several times by big reveals. My "primary suspect" transferred between multiple characters. I love that. Plus, even if this is part of a larger universe of books I had no problem following along. In actuality, that barely had any impact here. Why is this not perfect? Well there were some shoehorned stuff here, specially when near the end. Just felt poorly researched. And I wanted more D.D. I will definitely check more Lisa Gardner novels and I highly recommend this book to genre fans. 4.3/5
