It's still a pretty easy 5/5 for me. The pacing of this book is so good, especially in the latter half, the suspense that gets built up is incredible. Even tho or maybe because i knew what was coming i was dreading the ending, my heart racing for the final 35% of this book. It managed to grip me the entire time even tho especially the beginning was a classic heroes journey. I think something really remarkable that this book manages to convey is the relationship between the 7. Because you might THINK they would be an incredible team right away but it is very clear the entire time that they don't fully trust each other because they don't KNOW each other. They've been thrown in this quest together, the seven most powerful demigods alive, and are supposed to work as a team but really, they are strangers. I think the constant bickering, the distrust and inability to talk openly a lot of the times really shows they have a way to go to work as a team, which in my opinion makes the payoff even better. And then not to say this is possibly the only ending in a Rick book ever. If I catch you Rick, if I catch you. (BTW it was somehow even worse this time around even tho I knew what was coming so keep that in mind) Yeah all in all just a great book, the best in the series if there wasn't the next book lol.

I wasn't engaged like I was with the other books. Also, why did it take so long to get to Annabeth's quest?

“Solange wir zusammen sind.” AHHHHHH

Overall, it's a solid book but the cliffhanger 😩. The reunion and percybeth were everything tho <3 (:

As always, this book was amazing. It had very intricate story lines, multiple characters with multiple ways of thinking a multitude of things to do. It was fast-paced and very engaging. The entire plot drives the reader to know more and see more. The characters are in constant danger and the reader feels that danger with them. There were so many little things and "side quests" and personal story lines that you can't really decide what character you would like to hear from. It was a really good book! And I have to say, I missed Nico. I Hope I can hear from him in the next book, it would be interesting, a voice we haven't heard yet. But maybe he's not going to narrate. I guess I'll have to wait and see...

4.5 This was so good. I especially liked how we got to see Percy doubting the gods and reconsidering Luke’s view and beliefs even if just briefly. Annabeth is such a strong and amazing character and Percy and Leo are just such comedic (and clueless) but powerful characters l. These three are without doubt my favorites, but I can’t say too much about Frank and Hazel as we haven’t seen that much from them yet. I’m hoping for one of them to have a POV in house of hades. Jason is there (and sadly so is Piper but I like her) and he was a bit annoying but acceptable I guess? Thank gods we didn’t get his POV. I feel like the action ending length was great as it was like at least 160 pages and the angst of switching chapters and locations and wondering “no no I need to know what happened” left me feeling so overwhelmed (in a good way!!) and rooting and hoping for the characters. THAT ENDING?? WHAT

i dont know how to properly articulate my thoughts about the mark of athena everything is just perfect, wait no, it's beyond perfect, it there's a word that is more powerful than the world perfect, that's the mark of athena. rick riordan really knows what he is doing, his story telling just keeps getting badass in every book. the character development is really strong, in a short period of time you can easily saw the difference between the PJO Percy and Annabeth and the HOO Percy and Annabeth, the new characters has finally proven they're worth, they finally proved that they are not just ordinary demigods that some goddess randomly picked to be part of the prophecy, they have their own skills and abilities and together they are unbeatable, and most of all their flaws is just so powerful -- it makes them more real and more fragile, which is important for their development. the world building is superb, it seems that rick riordan is cooking an exquisite dish and he keeps on adding new and interesting and strong ingredients to the story, and he knows how to use this ingredients. he is really the myth master. and again the twists and turns in this book is superbly planned and written and imagined. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah i cannot properly articulate my thoughts about this because the ending is just dxrdtfgtyhjkdfhjsgahfdjsg now i have to wait for another year to know what's going to happen next...
