    Loved it

Maybe it is because the last few books I read were kinda bad, but I really loved the book. Don't like second chances, don't like stories with kids and don't like two timelines so when I stared the book I was a little hesistant. But the writing ist great, character developement too. The kid doesn't play a very major part. My biggest issue was that the storyline in the past was written in a third person narrator and the parts in the present were first person. I wish she would've just stuck to one. The end felt way too unrealistic in the way that Clay's parents suddenly don't suck anymore and Jethro's father wishes for him to be happy with his guy even though he acted like a homophobic dick before. Neither of the parents were huge assholes but it still felt a little too optimistic. But I won't complain about it. I'm always happy when things work out. Realized more than halfway through the book I actually read the other books in the series... but it was over a year ago so I don't remember much. Probably would've enjoyed their appearances more though. Bonus star for the amount of hockey. A whole lot of the book plays on the ice and I love it.
