Okay, so overall I did enjoy the book up until the ending. I liked the writing - especially the talk about grief about close family members dying and I loved how all characters were so welcoming and nice! But I was waiting for the horror to actually start, to me it just felt like a soft mystery to me very romance focussed which was hinting at some paranormal stuff. When I finished this book I was not sure how to rate it, because I did really enjoy reading it - but I just was not was the marketing made it sound. But even if I look past the wrong marketing, I do have to admit that the ending and even some scenes in the book did not make too much sense. There where plotholes throughout the book where something is picked up but then just never brought up again, and the ending just messed up the timeline completely. I cannot think of an explanation where the ending makes sense. Still I did enjoy the time I had with this book, so for me it deserves three stars even if I would put it in a paranormal romance genre rather that horror, gothic or even thrillers.
