The twist of a knife. The birth of a legend. Step into the world of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas with this collection of prequel novellas. Celaena Sardothien is her kingdom's most feared assassin. Though she works for the powerful Assassin's Guild and its scheming master, Arobynn Hamel, she yields to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. But when Arobynn dispatches her on missions that take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, Celaena finds herself acting independently of his wishes and questioning her own allegiance. If she hopes to escape Arobynn's clutches, Celaena will have to put her faith in her wits and her blade . . . knowing that if she fails, she'll lose not just a chance at freedom but her life. A prequel to the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series, this collection of five novellas explores the history of this cunning assassin and her enthralling-and deadly-world. Included in this volume: The Assassin and the Pirate Lord The Assassin and the Healer The Assassin and the Desert The Assassin and the Underworld The Assassin and the Empire

5 Sterne Habe das Buch jetzt nach dem 2. Throne of Glass Roman gelesen. Ich fand die 5 Geschichten super. Man hat Celaena besser kennengelernt und einige Sachen aus ihrer Vergangenheit, die bisher nur angeschnitten, oder nur erwähnt wurden, wurden erklärt. Es gab all them feels. Einige “ok typisch Celaena”, echt fiese Twists und absoluten Verrat, n bisschen cutesy Füßchen strampeln…

Loved this pre story to the main series. The romance was for me a little unexpected, I felt like it could have also been just friends... But the story was really good and probably now leads to me having to re-read all of TOG

I feel like for the best assassin in Adarlan she should be like… less stupid? The whole book is just a following on every mistake she made, falling for traps that have big red warning signs above them, trusting Arobynn like 4 times too often and generally being a little naive. I am honestly a little disappointed since I would have liked to see how she became so ruthless and brilliant and not seeing her fail most of the time. But it was nice to have a little more backstory to the little anecdotes you get in TOG.

no one talk to me. "Well, I care what you think of me. I care enough that I stayed at this disgusting party just for you. And I care enough that I'd attend a thousand more like it so I can spend a few hours with you when you aren't looking at me like I'm not worth the dirt beneath your shoes."

Read up the entire series before I started with this one and loved everything about it

Yes. This book is good. And reading it first I think is a good start into this series. However:It was a slow start. My main points of criticism that I want to mention lay in the characters. We get it. She is spoiled and good at what she does. It is not the typical MC for Maas I think. But unfortunately it was a bit hard for me to believe the love story of her and Sam. He was TOO sweet and too little character. And the fact that they are both. INCREDIBLY young made it even harder. Typically for Sarah J. Maas the last 100 pages had me on the edge of the seat. Thank god for that. Although many things very quite predictable. Sadly.
