The end broke me. Nearly as bad as the ending of Era 1, did not expect this.

The beginning was rather dull, but after the story turned to mistborn mythology, I couldn't stop reading.

3.5 ⭐️ I liked it more than „Alloy of Law“ and I’m intrigued to where the story will go in the next novel.

3.5 stars. I liked this one more than the previous thanks to the larger presence of Harmony and TenSoon. This helped me out to connect to the first era trilogy that I loved so much. I also like Wayne for his craziness and fun. However, I cannot really connect to the other main characters and I am not a fan of western atmosphere, making my reading experience not as involving as I wanted to.

Es ist schon etwas her seit ich den ersten Teil der Reihe rund um Wax und Wayne gelesen habe und vielleicht lag es auch daran, dass es dieses Mal ein bisschen gedauert hat bis ich komplett in die Geschichte rein gekommen bin. Dennoch war Shadow of Self von Brandon Sanderson durchgehend spannend und ich mochte in welche Richtung sich die Geschichte bewegte und besonders die Verbindungen zur der ersten Mistborn-Trilogie. Ich hatte in diesem Teil auch etwas Mühe mit Wax warm zu werden und sein Verhalten ging mir teilweise etwas auf die Nerven. Dafür bleibt Wayne eine meiner absoluten Lieblingsfiguren und ich mochte auch die Entwicklung von Marasi in diesem Teil. Vermutlich werde ich diese Reihe nie so sehr mögen wie die Bücher rund um Vin, Elend und ihre Truppe, doch die Welt und das Magiesystem sind noch immer toll und ich finde es super spannend was Brandon Sanderson daraus macht.

this part of the mistborn series is just not my favorite brandon sanderson. can't keep myself interested for some reason. though, the ending was fire!

4,25/5 o 8.5/10 Che dire: libro molto bello e interessante. Si apre di più sul mondo di Scandriel post Prima Era e sui alcuni personaggi che avevamo già incontrato. A differenza del primo, non mi ha preso molto, però si è letto in modo scorrevole e molto piacevole. Adoro sempre tutti i personaggi, ma anche Sterin ha fatto la sua comparsa un po' di più mostrandosi e dando supporto ai nostri personaggi. Il finale devastante. Sanderson ti arriva al cuore con i suoi personaggi e tu soffri con loro. Ho trovato due piccole sbavature in questo libro dati da alcune cose che sono rimaste in sospeso nella storia e spero vivamente che vengano affrontate al più presto. Parte Spoiler----------------------------------------------------------------- Allora ho adorato che Sterin non sia un personaggio di sfondo che vuole sposare Wax per il suo status (non per forza essere una sanguisuga) ma vuole comunque che il suo matrimonio non sia completamente dato dal puro beneficio. Il finale è stato tristissimo. Ha capito che Wax ha il cuore spezzato e lei gli sta accanto dandogli solo il suo supporto. Inoltre non vuole essere un peso per lui quando lavora, ma inizia a capirlo, e forse ad apprezzarlo per quello ch'è. Sanderson è bravissimo a creare queste dinamiche tra i personaggi, non creando una storia d'amore perfetta ma qualcosa di più "vero" e non idealizzato. La parte che mi crea più perplessità riguarda quello che è successo nel libro precedente: sembra che a nessuno freghi più qualcosa delle donne rapite, tenendo conto che comunque erano della buona società di Elendel. Non ne capisco il motivo, non vengono manco citate, anche se è passato circa un anno. Ho bisogno di sapere di più sul libro che Occhi di Ferro ha dato a Marasi. Voglio capire chi ha scritto quel libro. Aggiornamento post 3 settimane dalla fine della lettura. Allora il finale mi ha perseguitato tantissimo. Un finale del genere mi ha preso il cuore e l'ha strappato dal petto. Per me questo è paragonabile al finale del secondo di Era 1: pesante ma con un sacco di ripecuersioni.
