Let’s say rather 3.75 ⭐️ I really enjoyed Rushing In. Gavin and Skylar are complete opposites, which made their relationship fun to read from the very beginning. Skylar is anxious, introverted, and spends a lot of her time in her own head. As an author, she turns everything she sees into a story, and I thought that was such a unique part of her character. Gavin, on the other hand, is outgoing, adventurous, and the kind of person who runs toward danger instead of away from it. While other people think he has a death wish, he simply sees it as living life to the fullest. After Skylar’s world is turned upside down, she returns to her hometown and (re)connects with Gavin under unexpected circumstances. What starts as a friendship slowly develops into something more, and I really liked how naturally that progression felt. One of my favorite parts was seeing how Gavin unintentionally helped Skylar through her writer’s block and encouraged her to step outside of her comfort zone. I also enjoyed their dynamic because they balanced each other out so well. Gavin helped Skylar open up and experience life a little more, while Skylar gave Gavin someone who truly understood and appreciated him. The story touches on themes like anxiety, being an introvert, and finding your place, even if it doesn’t go into depth. Overall, it was a cute and enjoyable romance with likable characters and a relationship that felt genuine. It wasn’t the deepest book I’ve read, but I had a good time with it and really enjoyed watching their story unfold.
