Beschreibung

Is it really wrong to want to murder your boss?Dylan has worked for Gabe for two years. Two long years of sarcastic comments. Two long years of insults, and having to redo the coffee pot four times in the mornings to meet his exacting standards. Not surprisingly he has devoted a lot of time to increasingly inventive ways to murder Gabe. From stabbing him with a cake fork, to garrotting him with his expensive tie, Dylan has thought of everything. However, a chance encounter opens his eyes to the attraction that has always lain between them, concealed by the layers of antipathy. There are only two problems - Gabe is still a bastard, and he makes wedding planners look like hardened pessimists. But what happens when Dylan starts to see the real Gabe? What happens when he starts to fall in love with the warm, wary man that he sees glimpses of as the days pass? Because Gabe is still the same commitment shy, cold man that he’s always been, or is he? Has Dylan had the same effect on Gabe, and has his solid gold rule of no commitment finally been broken? With his heart taken Dylan desperately needs to know, but will he get hurt trying to find the answers? From the author of ‘The Summer of Us’ comes another scorchingly hot romantic comedy, showing what happens between two men when rules get broken.

Re-read

Dylan works for the devil. If the devil is a grumpy, abrasive, sarcastic lawyer squeezed into a gorgeous man. Everyone around them can see the tension and sparks flying between them - but will the guarded Gabe Foster put his walls down long enough to get his man? Saw this on a book-friend's re-read list, and my 4 stars underneath it. And as quite usual no clue what I thought about the book as I didn't leave a review. And there were a few things I really didn't enjoy. Gabe's crass manner in keeping Dylan away from him, the way sex was seemingly all there us between them, Fletcher and his cronies, my fave hated expression "more than air". I actually wanted to take stars off from this re-read but... Dylan. I love Dylan wholeheartedly. Dylan's family, including Jude. Henry. Morna. The devastating ache of a broken heart. The healing. The creation of a home, and life. So yea, back to 4 stars.

This was quite cute. Nothing spectacular, really... It’s a typical three-act book featuring a green flag of the century x a traumatized, cold boss who's afraid of intimacy. However, the trope was executed quite well. I expected more consequences for Gabe; I feel he got off too lightly, but at the same time, I like how the other character forgave him and how they worked through the issue. Ultimately, I liked how it was written, so I won't really complain.
