Richtig süße Cowboy Romance 🤠
Durch TikTok bin ich auf diese Cowboy-Reihe gestoßen und der erste Band ist richtig süß. Die Geschichte handelt von Blake & Gavin. 5 Jahre nach dem Tod ihres jüngeren Bruders kehrt Blake zurück auf die Ranch ihrer Eltern, um ihrer verletzten Mum zu helfen. Bei einer Charity-Veranstaltung, um die Ranch von Gavins Familie zu retten, zwingt Gavin Blake dazu einen Ritt auf einem mechanischen Bullen mitzumachen, bei dem die Frau für ein Date an den meistbietenden versteigert wird. Gavin will das Date mit Blake unbedingt, aber am Ende gewinnt sein Freund Jake. Super fand ich, dass Blake ein Plus Size Cowgirl ist und viele ernste Themen wie Trauer angesprochen wurden. Der Spice hilt sich in Grenzen, war aber auch gut geschrieben. Bin schon gespannt auf den zweiten Band über Gavins jüngeren Bruder.

Wir haben hier eine plus size Protagonistin, dessen Figur aber nie zum Thema gemacht wird. Es wird nur in einem Nebensatz erwähnt, dass sie nicht schlank ist. Ansonsten wird sie als begehrenswert dargestellt und nicht auf ihre Figur reduziert. Der Love Interest ist ein Cowboy der 5 Jahre jünger ist als sie! 🤭 Die Liebesgeschichte ist zwar präsenter aber im Vordergrund steht auch das Thema Trauer. Vielleicht liegt es daran aber mir hat bei der Love Story die Tension gefehlt. Ich musste nicht wie ein Teenager kichern oder war super aufgeregt weiterzulesen. Aber ich habs trotzdem genossen & würde es wegen der guten plus size Repräsentation empfehlen! :)
Eine schöne Geschichte, die sich gut lesen lässt. Durch das Verhalten der Hauptpersonen ganz am Anfang hat es kurzzeitig einen leichten Enemies-to-lovers Touch. Die schweren Themen wie Verlust und Trauer wurden gut aufgegriffen und in die Liebesgeschichte eingearbeitet. Einige Szenen haben mich zu Tränen gerührt. Es gibt einen guten Spannungsbogen, jedoch hätte ich mir ein bisschen stellenweise ein bisschen mehr Dramatik gewünscht. Darum einen Stern Abzug.

Die Geschichte rund um Blake und Gavin hat mich direkt abgeholt. Fünf Jahre nach einem schweren Verlust kehrt Blake zurück auf die Ranch ihrer Familie in einer kleinen Stadt in Texas – und trifft dort auf Gavin, der alles daransetzt, seine Familien-Ranch zu retten und ein Date mit ihr zu bekommen. Ich fand es richtig schön, dass Blake ein Plus-Size-Cowgirl ist und die Geschichte dabei auch ernstere Themen wie Trauer und Verlust sensibel aufgreift. Gleichzeitig ist die Story unglaublich romantisch und hat dieses typische Wohlfühl-Cowboy-Setting, das einfach Spaß macht. Der Spice ist stimmig eingebaut und gut geschrieben. Insgesamt ein emotionales, aber leicht zu lesendes Buch, perfekt als easy read für zwischendurch. Ich freue mich schon auf die Fortsetzung mit Kade.
