Rain of Shadows and Endings (Legacy, Band 1)

3,5 Stars I was contemplating reading this after seeing a lot of bad reviews about the abusive MMC. After reading it I think the main problem is, the emphasis on the „romance“ part - because it did not feel like one, or at least not the main focus. For me this was a story about a cruel and abusive world, with very strict hierarchy - and both the MMC and FMC trying to navigate in those tight boundaries/politics while going through lots of trauma themselves. It was hard to read at times and I do hate seeing how Tessa is treated by everyone. Looking forward to some Tessa-Rage in book 2.

I feel Like I just have been reading Books this year that are good but not mindblowing, this falls under the Same category for me. First of all this is very character driven and even tho I have to say all of them annoy me to some degree I also like them all in some way, except for theons father of course. Which is also why even tho it didn‘t hook me 100% I wanted to keep on reading, the dynamic between the characters is so unique and I loved it. Also this Concept is unlike anything you have Read before and it is so refreshing, especially it being a Fantasy book not including some kind of trials. The end just left Open so many questions that you just want to keep on Reading the second Book. But still i didn‘t get really attached to the characters and the story or rather the Problems happening sometimes felt a Little Long for me. Hopefully that changes in the second book because I see a lot of potential here and the authors writing definetly is unique and gripping!

3.5⭐ I don't know what I expected but I wanted more darkness and toxicity. Also the FMC was losing braincells as the book went on. Seeing as I do not like MFM and the things I was told about where the series goes, I might as well stop here.
