and a woman gifted with forever.
England, 1184: Anna is used to hunger and hardship. Ever since she was seventeen, when the pale shadows of her vitiligo were spotted, she has spent more than a decade struggling to survive alone and in exile. Then a single act of kindness towards a beautiful stranger and the taste of a divine peach changes Anna’s life forever.

Suddenly, her body is as untouched by time as it is by harm. As she watches the world change around her, knowing every human connection is only temporary, there is only one person she trusts to always return, no matter the years or distance...

I am usually not much into slow burn romances, I tend to get bored by them very easily but this one was so good! Anna is such an interesting character to follow that I was never bored for one minute and loved her development through all her hardships. The story through time was done so well, I really wanted the book to be much longer and linger in many more places through the periods. Because the ones we got, with the lives she went through were exceptional. The love between her and Khiran is so sweet and also very complicated. The story around him intrigues me so much. I need the second book like now!

„‚Did it hurt?‘ ‚The most worthwhile things usually do‘, he says“ I didn’t expect to love this book so much but I had to think about it even when I wasn‘t reading, which is always a good sign to me. Also, it was very different from everything else I‘ve read so far because we basically only have two constant (immortal) characters, Anna and Khiran, since the story spans several centuries. I loved the love story, the mentioning of feminism, the writing style and the characters. The only thing I‘m not the biggest fan of is Khiran‘s behavior at the end. Highly recommend reading this book!!!
